Welcome to Polyv Cloud Live Streaming. This document explains common Polyv terms, roles, and the overall business process to help you quickly understand the product architecture and get started.
Common Terms
Live Channel
An independent live streaming unit for publishing and viewing specific content, similar to a TV channel. Each channel has its own name, description, broadcast time, personnel arrangement, courseware content, and data statistics, and can host multiple live sessions.
Create Live Channel
An administrator creates a live channel, which can be assigned to a presenter for broadcasting. A live URL can be generated for viewers, guests, and teaching assistants to watch the stream.
Delete Live Channel
An administrator deletes a live channel. The presenter, viewers, guests, and teaching assistants can no longer access the channel, and it cannot be restored. Data generated by the deleted channel is retained in the backend.
Start Live Broadcast
When the host clicks the "Start Live Broadcast" button, viewers can see the live channel content, guests can connect via co-host to enter the channel, and the system begins recording and data statistics.
End Live Broadcast
When the host clicks the "End Live Broadcast" button, viewers can no longer see the live channel content, guests cannot continue co-hosting, and the system stops recording and data statistics.
Disconnect Live Broadcast
The live channel ends automatically due to unexpected circumstances, such as an unstable network connection for the presenter or an unexpected program closure.
Live Session
A live session starts when the presenter begins broadcasting and ends when the presenter stops (either actively or due to a disconnection). Each session generates a session data report and session recording.
Live Status
Indicates the usage status of a live channel. "Live" means a presenter is currently broadcasting in the channel. "Playback" means the channel is replaying a recorded video. "No Live" means there is no active broadcast or playback in the channel.
Co-Host
Refers to two or more people in a live channel simultaneously turning on their cameras and microphones to interact and communicate.

| Backend Admin | The first person to create an enterprise account has full administrative permissions for the backend. The creator identity can be transferred to another person.
