Video Transcoding Rules
With the widespread adoption of 4G and fiber optic speed upgrades, network transmission has improved rapidly. To optimize the user playback experience, POLYV will appropriately adjust the default bitrate and resolution of video transcoding files. After the adjustment, video quality will be further enhanced to meet users' demand for higher-definition video playback. The details of the changes are shown in the table below: (Bitrate unit: kbps)
| Quality | Default Bitrate | Default Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| Smooth | 400 | 640x360 |
| HD | 1000 | 1280x720 |
| Full HD | 2000 | 1920x1080 |
| 2K | Contact customer service to enable | |
| 4K | Contact customer service to enable |
POLYV will adjust the default video bitrate on March 7, 2024, but this will not affect existing users; existing users will retain their current default bitrate settings. To switch to the new bitrate, please contact the POLYV customer service team. New users registered after 00:00 on March 8, 2024, will use the new bitrate and encoding rules by default.
