H5 Low-Latency Live Streaming Feature Guide
Updated: 2025-12-17 15:49:46
Feature Overview
The H5 low-latency live streaming feature is based on the FLV protocol, reducing latency on mobile web pages to within 3-6 seconds, delivering a viewing experience comparable to that on PC.
Key Advantages
- Optimized viewing experience: Mobile latency is significantly reduced to 3-6 seconds, enabling more real-time interaction.
- Higher cost-effectiveness: Compared to zero-latency solutions, it achieves ideal latency performance at a more economical cost.
How It Works
The "Low Latency" feature automatically detects whether the viewer's browser supports modern low-latency streaming technology (MSE).
- Devices that support this technology: Will play in low-latency mode, providing an ultra-low latency experience of 3-6 seconds.
- Devices that do not support this technology: Will automatically switch to standard mode with better compatibility. Although latency is slightly higher, it ensures stable playback and prevents device overheating.
Browser Compatibility
- Recommended for use with mainstream mobile browsers and the WeChat built-in browser.
How to Enable the Feature
- Log in to the POLYV Live Management Console.
- Navigate to the Channel Management page.
- Create a new channel or edit an existing one.
- In the live streaming settings, find the "Streaming Latency" option, select "Normal Latency", then check "Low-Latency Viewing".
- Save the settings.
