1. Feature Overview

Feature Info
Description
Feature Name Live Rebroadcasting
Feature Description Rebroadcasting is a content distribution technology that allows real-time synchronization of live content from a main channel to multiple sub-channels. Through this feature, the live video, audio, and interactive content of the main channel can be presented simultaneously across different sub-channels, allowing viewers to watch the same live content from any sub-channel.
Purpose Expand audience reach, improve content distribution efficiency, enhance brand exposure, optimize resources, enable cross-platform distribution
Use Cases Dual-teacher instruction, large event live streaming, audience channel-based viewing, etc.
Operation Path

2. Operation Process

1. First, contact your account manager to enable the rebroadcasting feature. Enter the live room list and create a new live stream.

2. When creating the live room, set the rebroadcasting mode to "Rebroadcast Video Only" or "Rebroadcast + Overlay Video".

Notes

(1) Characteristics of "Rebroadcast Video Only":

  1. Multiple receivers share the initiator's audio and video stream.
  2. The initiator's main lecturer/teaching assistant can collect chat messages from all receiver viewers, but chat messages between receivers are isolated.

(2) Characteristics of "Rebroadcast + Overlay Video":

  1. Multiple receivers share the initiator's video stream and independently overlay their own audio and video.
  2. Receiver viewer chat messages are not shared with the initiator.

(3) The channel type defaults to "Initiate Rebroadcast", i.e., the main channel. To create a sub-channel, select "Receive Rebroadcast". Sub-channels will have a "Receive Rebroadcast" identifier. This means you need to create one channel that initiates the rebroadcast and several channels that receive the rebroadcast (There is an automated method for creating receiving channels, see below).

(4) The rebroadcasting channel and the channel being rebroadcast must use the same live streaming template. Rebroadcasting between different templates is not possible.

(5) The main channel can view chat content from all sub-channels, manage all viewers centrally, and initiate interactive applications across all sub-channels.

(6) Chat rooms between sub-channels are independent; viewers can only see chat content from their own sub-channel. Teaching assistants in sub-channels can assist the main lecturer in managing students in their respective channels and coordinate interactive features such as quizzes, surveys, and lucky draws, which only take effect within that specific sub-channel.

3. Initiate Rebroadcasting

(1) Enter the backend of the newly created live room that initiates the rebroadcast. Find the "Rebroadcast" button under the "Advanced Features" section.

(2) Enter the rebroadcasting page and click "Batch Create Receive Rebroadcasts" to automatically create multiple sub-channels in bulk.

(3) Enter the number and names of the sub-channels. The system will automatically create and link the sub-channels.

(4) Open the main channel's live room. Once the stream starts, viewers can enter the sub-channels to watch (Note: Sub-channels do not allow lecturers to start a stream; they only allow viewers to watch).
