How to Create High-Quality Videos

More and more users have been asking us why their videos have high bitrates but poor visual quality. This is often caused by improper shooting techniques. Today, let's discuss how to shoot better videos.

1. Use a Tripod to Reduce Camera Shake

If the camera is not stable, the footage will be shaky. Shaky images introduce a significant amount of extra information, which increases the data rate and places a higher load on bandwidth.

2. Use Good Lighting Techniques

The brightness of the light source is crucial. Many cameras have an automatic brightness adjustment feature. When the ambient light is insufficient, the camera will automatically adjust the brightness. During this adjustment process, some noise may be introduced, which is recorded as useful information, thereby increasing the video bitrate.

3. Choose an Appropriate Frame Rate

The frame rate indicates the number of frames displayed per second (fps). If the clip has a high data rate, a lower frame rate can improve playback performance on low-end computers. Since the video will look much better during initial viewing, a higher frame rate is recommended. If you need to reduce the frame rate, reducing it by an integer multiple will yield better results. Typically, screen recordings use 5 or 15 fps, 24 fps is the lower limit for continuous motion, and 60 fps is roughly the limit of human eye resolution.

4. Remove Noise and Deinterlace

After capturing video, you may need to remove noise and deinterlace.

5. Keep It Simple, Avoid Complex Transitions

Hard cuts (as opposed to cross dissolves) generally offer the best compression. While cross dissolves may look visually appealing, their compression efficiency is relatively poor.
